INTRODUCTION:
Ecotourism activities have been expanding rapidly over the past two decades and further growth is expected in the future. Recognising its global importance, 2002 as the International Year of Ecotourism, and its Commission on Sustainable Development requested international agencies, governments and the private sector to undertake supportive activities.

On the contrary very little has ever occurred in the Ecotourism sector in Cameroon. However Ecotourism is a tool for conservation and sustainable development. It is defined as the “responsible travel to natural areas, which conserves the environment and improves the welfare of local people”.

A lot and lot more is needed to improve the capacity of civil society Organizations in Cameroon in ecosystems and ecotourism development.
