OUTCOME OF CONFERENCE :
On a survey conduted in a group of A,B,C and D participants accepted to have learnt many new things they never knew since the epidemic came into existence.
For example, Deep kissing, Body fluids except sweat could transmitt the Virus that causes Aids.
They also learnt that it is better for infected persons to further prevent exposure to the Virus so as to reduce the Viral load in their bodies which may favour the presence of CD4 cells and as such makes them to live longer.
Conference had many participants who are living positively with the infection and had to share many experiences.
The diverse Cultural and educational background made the event innovative in experience sharing.
Conference has trained 55 persons who will provide Counseling to more than 1 million people in the South West Province and the Bakassi Peninsular after the just ended boarder crisis for 48 months.
As part of the training Course, participants of the just ended event will have to undertake an 8 week (1 st March-28 April 2005) field visits, accessing the needs of various Communities in relationship to arresting the pandemic in more than 36 Villages, 100 schools, colleges and other Vocational learning centres habouring youths, the various high risks centers and the prisons. DIFFICULTIES :

Since FEEDAR & HR lacks a premises to accomondate a population of more than 10 at a time, we pledged to use the City Council Hall of Kumba which request was turned down, but ONLY if we had to pay a sum of 30,000 frs per day.
This was very heavy for our Voluntary Organization, Organizing a free cost Training to assist arrest a pendemic which has rendered many families helpless within our communities.
Nonetheless the Community Development Premises was given at a minimal cost that included renting of seats, and premises properly taken care of each day.
During Conference difficulties like respecting time and consistency to participation were major problems. Some complained of local transportation difficulties to training center. Some even had difficulties in their accomondation since accomondation was a responsibility of the trainees.
We also could not provide sufficient food and food items to cover breakfast and lunch due to the lack of funds and no support from all agencies and Organizations we requested assistance from.
But generally, feeding and change of variety was okay.
We also could not pay for local transportation of participants back home after tarining and for their return for field placements.
RESOURCE PERSONS:
Paying for resource persons and speakers or negotiating their coming was another threat since most of them could not forgo their own jobs due to working conditions.

Nevertheless the most demanding aspect of the pandemic legal and Ethical aspects of HIV/AIDS well covered. The topic went as far deep as differentiating aspects of the more than 230 cultural and ethnic groups in Cameroon.
FIELD VISITS :
This Organization has joint partnership with Chiefs and Traditional Councils of 36 villages in Meme Division and Kumba of the South West Province to provide Psychosocial support to the Field Counselors for the 8 weeks 1 ST MARCH – 28 APRIL 2005. I am representing Cameroon and the Central Africa Focal Point, Sylvie Niombo in Republic of Congo and Niacesse in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
As an initiative to meet the target goals, I have begin by Organizing a participatory training Conference of Counselors on HIV/AIDS and Psychosocial Interventions with conference report attached. This is first of all a giant step to take the bull by the horns.
