A LETTER TO PRESIDENT PAUL BIYA; CALLING FOR HIS RESIGNATION

TO:

MR PAUL BIYA, PREISDENT OF CAMEROON,

PRESIDENCY OF THE REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON,

UNITY PALACE, YAOUNDE, CAMEROON.

Mr. President, 25 YEARS IS

ENOUGH

STEP DOWN AS PRESIDENT OF CAMEROON!!!!!

Ahmadou Ahidjo                   Cameroon Flag.                 Paul Biya

1960-1982(25Yrs)                                                         1982-2007 present date.

6th of November is not a Public Holiday in Cameroon as has been celebrated all other years. It has become a nuisance to Cameroonians bringing about economic halt down, shut of office doors and diversion of traffic flow, but it is a day when Mr Paul Biya was sworn in as president of the United Republic of Cameroon after serving as a lone prime minister to the former president late El-Hadji Ahmadou Ahidjo since 1976.

The sliver Jubilee of last 6th November 2007 ranks Paul Biya the Number 1 Dictator in the World.

Mr Paul Biya you had dinner in a Unity Palace you  did not build and has never putting up any structure even in the capital city Yaoundé, not to talk of even a football pitch considering Cameroon a football nation of the world. You keep the remains of a whole president out of his fatherland, why?

From 1982 to present date you have executed the largest number of people more than in the Sudan, Congo and the Rwanda genocide, rendering hundred of thousands miserable and causing a massive drift of population especially the youthful population to flee the country seeking refuge overseas.

Cameroon has never fought any internal war, but there exist uncountable mass graves around the metropolis of Cameroon and hundred of thousands of innocent deaths, in dilapidating jail conditions, on the narrow high way, slippery muddy roads and the Lake Nyos gas disaster of 21 august 1986 killing at least 1700 people which has been a political manoeuvre.

You can changed the constitution any time you want, create as many as over 60 government ministries, the largest number in the world records to persuade retired comrades while keeping the youths without jobs after and no opportunities for investments.

Late His Excellency Ahmadou Ahidjo was dressed in all white long gown as usual with hands up so that you can see his palms, to say the United Republic of Cameroon needs a change.

He persuaded his fellow country men to accept you Mr Paul Biya as his successor since he believed serving him as a lone prime minister will add flesh to the smooth running of the country. Twenty-five Years (25) years is enough, and then he gave way.

Mr Paul Biya you took office to "Democratise political life, bring about social and economic liberalisation, introduced rigour in management and moralise attitudes, and to reinforce international co-operation."

What has become of Cameroon since 6th

November 1982?

OUR DEMANDS.

Let us share our sorrows to the innocent who have lost their lives, those lamenting in jails, those under prosecution and those on exile.

PAUL BIYA HAS NOT FIULFILLED His commitments made when taking over power in 1982.

  1. REMAINS OF LATE PRESIDENT:

Cameroonians first of all need the remains of late president El-Hadji Ahmadou Ahidjo who was forced to die in Exile in Dakar, Senegal on the 30th November1989 at 65 years to come back to Cameroonian Soil.

  1. THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON:

El-Hadji Ahmadou Ahidjo following the Foumban Convention of 1961 did not handover power in 1982 for Paul Biya to consider English Cameroon as a colonized territory in La Republic du Cameroun, but as a sovereign state of its own as per the Foumban convention.

English Cameroon is now described as the least developed part of the Central and West Africa sub-regions with no pipe borne water, no roads, no electricity and not adequate health facilities, but stands tall in the economic potentials of the West and Central African Regions. We need a Federal  Republic of Cameroon as most successful nations in the world are federal states, South Africa, Nigeria, Germany, USA just to mention but a few.

  1. DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS:

Of the 194 countries in the world, Cameroon since 1982 has not had any new embassy as to what was left by late Excellency El-Hadji Ahmadou Ahidjo. Instead, many embassies left Cameroon as some are just trying to return. This has further weakened diplomatic tiles with other countries around the world causing Cameroonians spending double to attain visas and travel permits to these countries. Its has further weakened economic cooperation and in the development of Tourist potentials

For example in both North and South American countries only three countries are represented in Cameroon; USA, Canada and Brazil. That is to say, since 1982 no embassy from both North and South American came new apart of Brazil which left and fully returned in 2005.

In Asia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, China and Japan are the only countries with Embassies and Consulates in Cameroon.

In Europe; many like Luxemburg, Monaco, Leichstintine, Iceland and All of Eastern European countries are absent except Russia.

In Australia and Oceania none is represented.

In Southern and East Africa, the only representation is South African Embassy 2004.

We need many more embassies in Cameroon than they are represented.

  1. INTERENATIONAL COOPERATION:

Cameroon which is both an English and French speaking Country is not a signatory to many conventions and protocols of the International community.

It membership into the Francophonie and the Common Wealth of Nations has not benefited Cameroonians especially the Youths and the civil society because they are ill-informed of the realities of these institutions.

We need more ratification of conventions and protocols within the international system and the open society. Most especially within the United Nations system.

  1. EDUCATION:

Since 1982 Cameroon has experience a massive decline in the pursue of Higher Education which has led to a massive brain drain into other first world countries. University or Higher education has become only for the rich. The poor finding it very difficult taking into into cognisance the increased fees, increased house rents, lack of hostels and no bursary for the students as was the case before and some few years after 1982.

Scholarship for Cameroonian scholars has ceased and on the irony all children of Ministers and Directors are flooding the campus of European and American Institutions.

We need Cameroonians to study abroad under scholarship, let University Education in Cameroon be free and let students be given opportunities to less rents and other costs related to Education in Cameroon.

Recently the government Claims Elementary education is free which not the case is. Elementary education cost has quadrupled than was before.

  1. CIVIL SOCIETY:

The Civil society in Cameroon suffers more. They are voiceless in their decisions and have no place in policy and development options.

Recently prices for basic commodities have quadrupled rendering the poor rural communities helpless. To site a few examples,

I) The price of Aluminium Roofing sheets initially sold for 50.000 FRS CFA or about US$100 is now sold for over 300.000 FRS CFA or US$ 500.

II) The Price of a litre of Kerosene initially sold at 100 FRS CFA is now sold for 400 FRS or close to a Dollar.

The Rural people go only for fuel wood causing heavy destruction of the forests and biological species.

Mr President, we want to commend you for your effort to avoid any blood spill in this blessed land and to peacefully decline from power giving way for a change to occur in Cameroon.

Many Cameroonians overseas want to come back home, many Investors want to come to Cameroon.

You manipulated Cameroonians and the constitution to cause you to have 7 years of office terms renewable once which will keep you in power than ever. This is unfair.

If you need Cameroonians to keep on remembering you as a dear President, after achieving Victory in Bakassi, meeting the completion point of the heavily Indebted poor countries initiatives, bringing four times African Nations Cup, and One quarter finals world cup in 1990, resign from power.

We are sure you will be more useful to the world like great thinkers like Mandela, Tony Blair and others.
