A) COCOA AGROFORESTRY PROJECT.

 

  • Recovery of 1000 Mortgaged Cocoa Estates
  • Process and Market Cameroon Cocoa Beans in Acceptable International Standards.
  • Plant 500,000 nurseries of Agro forestry trees within the Cocoa Plantations.

B)WATERSHED MANAGEMENT  ECO-TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AND RIVERS BASINS PROTECTION IN THE VARIOUS FORESTS IN CAMEROON

o The Meme River forest reserve
o The Southern Bakundu Forests Reserve
o The Rumpi wildlife Sanctuary
o The Korup National Park
o JUST to mention a few forests

1. ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES IN THE SOUTH WEST PROVINCE.
o Develop and equip School Environmental Clubs where pupils and students will be able to learn, exchange and communicate among themselves on Environmental issues in their daily life. They will also learn how to practically plant trees, carry on environmental hygiene and sanitation and the respect and implementation of the various Environmental Agreements. Exposing these pupils and students to Various magazines and publications will be an added advantage especially to resources where they can go to make their own research and findings.
o These Environmental clubs will contain gardens where various trees especially the endangered and threatened species will be grown as potted plants and named.
o In these School Environmental Clubs information of Green House Gases and Climate Change, substances the Deplete the Ozone Layer, their management and control will be very heavily communicated.
o Moreover Land Degradation, Erosion and Desertification control will be among the approach to achieve the goals of environmental protection.

2. INTRODUCING THE SCIENCE OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS AND THEIR IMPLICATIONS TO THE SOCIETY.
o Children and young adults even various communities and Civil society Organizations needs to know of many things in the milieu of sciences and the Changing World especially on Biosafety and Applied Biosciences. Their capacities needs to be increased to face the challenging opportunities of Modern Biotechnology and Applied Biosciences.

3. CELEBRATION OF VARIOUS INTERNATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL DAYS 2006 .
o Celebration of the International Year of Deserts and Desertification.
o World Environment day 5th June
o World Wetland day 2nd February
o School Clean up day 3rd March
o International Biodiversity day 22nd May
o And many other More ( see last page of report)

METHOD:
Environmental Educators will be put in place, two Environmental Educators represent a division, with a function to give given awareness in Schools and Colleges and increasing the Capacities of Civil Society Organizations within the division.
They will also be responsible in the celebration of the various Environmental days creating awareness of the various events and empowering schools and colleges the various communities on environmental protection.

These Educators will require Support in doing this task especially Bikes sine they will have to penetrate hinterlands, locate an environmental information collection centre and Educational materials to keep the population aware on various Environmental issues.

4) RESERVE AND PROTECTED FORESTS IN CAMEROON
From 2005 this organization commenced a campaign to monitor illegal exploitation, use and occupation of reserve and protected forests and the trade in threatened species and their parts within the diverse Forests of the South West Province of Cameroon.
The campaign will effectively progress from January 2006 which will particularly target the following forest under the strong support of the ministries of Environment and Nature Protection and the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, and the various National and International Organizations.
o The Meme River forest reserve
o The Southern Bakundu Forests Reserve
o The Rumpi wildlife Sanctuary
o The Korup National Park
o JUST to mention a few ( see forests at the end of report)

METHOD:
Further develop legality and conflict free standards within the forests area and assist in looking for potential markets for forests products.
Improve monitoring of product chain from exploiters to purchasers.
Create local Dialogue groups to address community problems that can be fully discussed at the country specific dialogue group.
Generally prevent illegal logging both at community and national Level and keeping archive for future data collection, research and other scholarly motives.
Partner with potential Organizations to address forestry problems and helping the government in strengthening bilateral agreements signed to meet supposed obligation in forestry and environmental issues.
Urge Government ministries to intense efforts in forests and Biodiversity preservation and involve local communities and civil society Organizations in decision making.
Advocate, increase awareness and education and lobby for donors to support communities directly.
